Bon Jovi Edmonton Concert - The Background
Okay - here's the background on the Bon Jovi trip. I've been a huge, massive fan since grade 7 when Slippery When Wet was finally brought to my attention. It was the third
tape I ever owned. Oddly, the second was Bruce Springsteen Born in the USA. Must be a New Jersey thing. My fifth tape was New Jersey :) I've always continued to listen. Some records are better than
other, but there are always songs on any album that I get off on.
Those who know me well know that I keep my hair longish because on Bon Jovi - and because it looks cool under a motorcycle helmet - and that my musical tastes are guitar driven due to my prolonged exposure to Bon Jovi. I listen
to other music - but Bon Jovi makes up the majority of my play lists. I've always gotten a little grief for chilling to Bon Jovi - but could care less and love rocking out. I've been to different concerts, but
not any concerts that were anything more than a date to circle on a calendar. A Bon Jovi concert would be epic.
I've always wanted to go to a Bon Jovi concert but have never had anyone to go with. Kenda was never really interested and my friends could care less and suckle at the teat of
radio station mush. Yes, I said mush! I almost went to a Bon Jovi concert with Kenda's friend Paula when we were living out east in London. It never happened, but Paula did
get me a sweet concert tshirt that I promptly ruined by painting while wear it. Damn!
A concert never happened due to scheduling issues - and I was starting to think that a concert
might never happen. Then Voila! Kenda bought two tickets for my birthday and also was cool with riding to the concert. It was down to Calgary or Edmonton for the location. Calgary
blows... and we have relatives in Edmonton. Pretty easy decision really...
